It’s that time of year again when everyone is planning out next summers race schedule. I know many races are opening up this month and next. I wanted to share some changes that REV3 has made to their Portland HalfREV for next July 8th, 2012. I raced in their inaugural race last year and recorded my fastest half distance time ever in 5:08. The swim was fast in Blue Lake and it was a fun swim course!
The biggest change for 2012 will be the bike course. Last year the course was flat and fast and they adding challenging climbs for 2012! Check out the elevation graph and the embedded video of the bike course:

If you haven’t checked out a REV3 event yet, make their Portland race your first! Last year I raced back to back weekends starting with the Portland HalfREV and then Vineman 70.3 that next weekend. Not only did I set a new half distance PR at Portland, I was also able to record my 2nd fastest half distance time and a personal course best at Vineman 70.3 that next week! Registration cost for the Portland Half Rev is $210, $185 for the Aquabike, and $285 for the relay. Once early bird pricing ends, the price will increase to $250 for the Half, $225 for the Aquabike, and $325 for the relay.
